learn to Run the way your dna intended

Some studies estimate as high as 80% of runners get injured in a given year! 80%! Why? It’s just the person and the ground??

Exactly. At its simplest, optimizing running performance is about two things: efficiency and consistency. Having an astute understanding of your relationship with gravity and the ground is at the root of optimizing those qualities. This series teaches an in-depth, running-specific version of the Movement Intelligence principles of body awareness, body control, and biomechanical optimization.

What you will take away

  • Enhanced postural awareness & control

  • A variety of breath skills & strategies to improve lung capacity

  • Improved hip, ankle and spine mobility

  • Improved core, glute, and foot strength

  • Improved balance, coordination, and power

  • Specific injury prevention strategies

  • Specific strategies for how to safely train and progress the above skills on your own!

How the series works

  • Four (4) 75-minute Zoom sessions

  • Within each class will be a gradual progression of movement training with respect to the amount of motion, postural demand, speed, and complexity. Each session will build on the previous lesson.

  • Ample optional Q&A time for both general and specific questions.

  • Access to daily exercise programming between sessions to help cement the skills via the TruCoach App.

More about Abel

As collegiate pitcher, Abel’s primary job (when not pitching) was distance running to train endurance capacity. It was then where he began to develop a love and appreciation for running. Prior to going to physical therapy school, Abel had a failed attempt of training for a marathon due to recurring knee pain. However, in 2019, with the help of a refined and well-rounded approach to movement training, Abel reestablished the marathon goal and completed the Vancouver Marathon in sub 4 hours.
